As new numismatists/collectors, we follow in the footsteps of giants: those who have spent so much of their time and efforts to open new chapters in our growing knowledge of the coins we all enjoy.
I've added this page as a way of expressing my sincere thanks and warm gratitude to the many, many people that have provided help, encouragement, and valuable resources. Without them, this site, and many others like it, would not be possible.
- First and foremost: The first ancient coin dealer I ever bought a coin from. Just a small shop in London, on an out of the way street near Chinatown. Your patience with a guy who had never even seen an Roman coin in real life, and had a thousand questions, is greatly appreciated! I wish I could remember who you are, so I could thank you by name!
- The various authors who spend untold hours researching, compiling, photographing, and publishing numismatic titles. On my pages, I've drawn heavily from your works, and your efforts are appreciated. Your work isn't about making money....its about the appreciation of old coins, and the history behind them.
- Doug Smith. The work you have put into your site has helped and encouraged more collectors than you will ever know.
- Wayne G. Sayles. Your "Ancient Coin Collecting" books are great!
- David Sear, for your books "Roman Coins and their Values", and "Greek Coins and their Values". A mainstay of my library.
- Art Noot. A true gentleman in the old sense of the word. I'm honored to call you a friend. "Thanks for all the great deals, Art"!
- The wonderful Staff at CNG. Thank you for your kind permission to use so many of your pictures, and for all the great coins I've bought over the years.
- The members of the Moneta coin discussion list, for willingly sharing your experience with so many.
- My customers at local coin sales. I can't say how much I've enjoyed the hours talking "coin stuff" with all of you. As always, your business is greatly appreciated!
- The various dealers at the coin shows, for the hours I've spent digging through your boxes. Your patience with yet another bottom-feeder is unending.
- All the collectors that have so willingly allowed me to use pictures of their coins on my site.
- Last, but not by any means least, all of you who have stopped by my site and have taken the time to write. Questions, comments, corrections, and compliments. I've enjoyed every minute of our discussions.
With Warmest Regards,
Steve Niederloh
