Campgates

Campgates, city gates, watchtowers.....whatever you personally choose to call them, these coins make a great subject for a collection of Constantine and his family.

There is also a great deal of debate (or argument, if you prefer) as to what, exactly, those structures on top of the buildings are. Personally, I don't know, so I just refer to them as "turrets". If you prefer to call them something else, feel free to do so : )

When I buy a coin, I am often looking for subtle differences that set it apart from other coins that, at first glance, may be very similar. I may be attracted to a particular coin because of the way the devices are struck, or in the way they relate to the other features of the coin. So, while in general I may be looking for a specific emperor from a certain mint, I am also looking for coins that have (to me at least) a character all their own.

Of course, its just possible that I bought the coin because it was all I could afford at that particular time : )
